Q - How do I store leftovers?
A - It is intended for the meals to be eaten on receipt while hot. However, leftovers can be stored in the fridge or freezer (in the cardboard container). Cool quickly (within 60 minutes of receipt) before putting in the fridge or freezer.
Q - How do I reheat leftovers?
A - It is intended for the meals to be eaten on receipt while hot. However, leftovers can be reheated in the microwave (in the cardboard container). Reheat quickly, stir, and ensure it is piping hot all the way through.
Q - Are you insured?
A - Yes, Feeding the Family has public liability insurance.
Q - Are you licensed?
A - Feeding the Family is a registered food business with Basildon council and a registered Charity No: 1202374
Q - What’s your food hygiene rating?
A - Our last food standards inspection was on 15/11/22 and we received a 5 rating . Reflecting the hard work that has gone into putting safe practices and procedures into place as we deal with vulnerable people.
Q - Are you Covid secure?
A - Keeping our recipients safe is a priority especially as we are often providing to the elderly & vulnerable. With this in mind we have ensured all our delivery drivers are trained to use safe methods whilst maintaining a personal experience. Ongoing risk assessments are being carried out as the situation changes. A copy of our risk assessments are available on request.
Q - What is the criteria to start the Give Guide Grow programme?
A - To the lonely and socially isolated in the Basildon Borough.
